LAUGHTER
I try to seldom speak
of things befallen me.
Instead I go about to seek
a laugh - because you see
Laughter for the weary soul
is a balm made to soothe,
The ache of rocky travels
down a road seldom smooth.
Laughter for a thirsty spirit
is like a quenching wine,
It bubbles with excitement
to intoxicate the mind.
Laughter is a flower cut
in its moment of full bloom,
The essence of its being
will quickly fill the room.
Laughter is the language
understood by everyone,
Its face reflects the message
of simple child-like fun.
The more we laugh the less
we'll tend to ponder why,
Things are the way they are
in this world gone awry.
